One afternoon Ben was playing in the back yard. A big black cat jumped over the fence and lay down among his mother's plants. Ben crept up to the cat. He caught it by the tail and dropped it into a tub of water. His mother looked out of the window and saw him. She called him into the house and scolded him for such a cruelty. Then she told him that he must go to bed and stay there till evening. Before long Ben fell asleep.
