He was giving them a pep talk(鼓舞士气的讲话) and they were all ears at him. Everyone seemed to lend a willing ear to(洗耳恭听) what he was saying.
May: He's really something(真有他的). He must have got the hang of(找到窍门) dealing with people.
May: Yes, he has. He's able to keep everyone on his toes(使每一个人忙个不停).
Jim: I must go and have a talk with him. I need to pick his brains(请教).

注意:当它的后面跟随宾语时,在all ears的后面常用介词at连接宾语。例如:The kids were all ears at the old man. 孩子们全神贯注地听老人给他们讲话。
