Debate ensued after a comedy program on Shanghai Oriental TV featured Jia Ling, a famous Chinese female comedian, bantering about Mulan, a traditional patriotic heroine, and portrayed her as an abnormal coward and fool.

Nearly 40,000 comments appeared under the topic on whether the comedian should apologize for the parody on Sina Weibo.

Some point out that comedy is originally a kind of art that allows parody. However, others argue that entertainment is without limits, but the arts have the bottom line.

All this was said in a bantering tone.

After the heavy rains, floods ensued.(暴雨之后发生了水灾。) I'm sending the letter today, and the parcel will follow.(我今天发信,包裹随后就寄。)
