Sustain Your Motivation
Here are three steps to use planning to sustain your motivation.
Simplify. In other words, break your task down into small and manageable steps. This way you’re not overwhelmed by what needs to be done, and you’ll be less likely to procrastinate.
Plan your steps. Lay out the steps you need to take to accomplish your goal. Set up a plan for getting tasks done, and plan out as many steps in advance as you possibly can. Once you know what you need to do, do it, before moving on to the next step.
Create a list. Take the previously mentioned steps and put them in order according to your priorities. Arrange them so that you will get the most important tasks done in the most efficient manner. That is what a good “to-do” list does to help keep you motivated, and build momentum. Begin each day with your “to-do” list, and move through the day armed with a plan.
As you strike the tasks you’ve finished off the list, you begin to gain momentum. The feeling that you’re making progress only motivates you to continue.
Rejection Is a Gift
Rejection is not about you; it’s someone who makes a choice based on their own needs and goals.
You cannot control another person. What we can change is the way we choose to interpret another person’s choice. Each of us here on Earth is entitled* to their own journey.
Rejection shows us our next opportunities for growth. It guides us to the wounds that we have within. The suffering we feel leads us to greater levels of self-awareness if we choose to learn and grow from the experience. When someone rejects us it shows us how sensitive we are and the ways we are probably still questioning and doubting ourselves.
If you don’t reject you, nobody else can, either. An important key to moving beyond rejection is to learn to love and accept yourself for who you are. If you accept and love yourself fully, does it matter if someone walks out on you? You listen to their comments, thank them for their honesty, smile or shrug and then move on with your day.
Rejection is a gift. It opens the door to new things, better-suited friends and partners, and fresh experiences. It is a blessing when people tell the truth! By doing this, they save us time and energy. I would much prefer someone to be real with me than to pretend that everything is perfect.
You Deserve the Best
If you can come up with an excuse for not taking action, you can also find a reason to go ahead and take action. If you can find a reason to quit, you can also find a reason to keep going.
Are you skilled and experienced in making yourself miserable? Turn those skills around and make yourself motivated, inspired, effective and fulfilled. Do you spend lots of time getting little or nothing accomplished? Just by making more productive use of that time, you have the opportunity to achieve great things. Are there mistakes that you have made in the past? By learning from those mistakes and making more positive choices, you can vastly improve the results you get.
Every day you use powerful skills and tap into abundant resources to bring your life those things you think you most deserve. So what exactly do you think you deserve? Choose to see that you deserve the best, for you already have what is necessary to make it happen.
